Author Pages
Author pages and author entities will be auto-generated when a CMS user is created. Additionally, new authors can be set up via Craft > Authors section.
The following data will be defined automatically (both for the "Author Info" and "Author Page Info" sections):
- Name
- Default image (silhouette) + ״Credit״ and ״Alt text" will use the author name by default
- Joined date (according to the user creation date by default)
- URL (according to the prefix defined in the setup (/author, /contributor, etc) + username)
- The default text displayed next to the author joining date within the page will be "Joined:"
- The default button-text at the bottom of the page will be "Show More"
To edit/complete the author info after the CMS user was created, click on the "Authors" section in Craft.
Next, use the search component to look for the author's name and then click on the "Edit" button.
The Authors editing screen is compiled of the following sections:
Author Info (this section includes the data for the "Author Entity" within our platform)
- Name
- Background Image
- Alt text - The author’s name can be used here
- Credit - If no credit is required, you can use the author name for this field, as well
- Byline (will only appear within Abu Dhabi author page template for now)
- Bio
- Joined Date (use the date picker to select the author's joining date)
- Social links (add social network accounts that will appear on the page)
Author Page Info (this section includes the required data to display on the author page itself)
- Joined date text ("Joined:")
- Article loader button ("Show More")
- URL Preview
