If you are working on a sponsored post or specific content where video pre-roll ads need to be disabled, please follow the guidelines below. Note that standard display tags like "no-ads" and "sponsored" only affect banner ads and do not automatically disable ads within the video player.
Option 1: Update URL Structure and Categories (Recommended)
This is the most efficient way to ensure all video ads are automatically stripped from an article.
Adjust the URL: Ensure the article URL follows the structure
si.com/sponsored/....Apply Main Category: In addition to your standard commercial tags, you must add "Sponsored" as the Main Category for the post.
Note: Using this URL structure and category will automatically disable video ads.
Option 2: Use Video Editor Settings
You can manually disable ads for specific video placements while building your article.
Open the Video Editor.
Embed your chosen video into the article.
Select the option to disable video ads for that specific placement.
Option 3: Use an Iframe Embed Workaround
If the above options are not suitable for your specific page layout, you can manually embed the video via an Iframe.
Copy the Iframe script for your video.
Embed it directly into the body of the post.
Result: Iframe embeds automatically strip video ad settings, ensuring no pre-roll is applied.
Example Iframe Script Structure:
<iframe src="https://vms-players.minutemediaservices.com/voltax_player_embed.html?contentId=[YOUR_ID]&orgId=6" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>.
Option 4: Custom Video Targeting Rules
If you have a complex request that the first two options cannot solve, you can reach out to AdOps to request an update to the specific video targeting rules for your content.
